Updated National General STM Policies and Initial Payments

Serving the insurance needs of clients throughout the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area since 2002, Messer Financial Group is the region's largest independent insurance brokerage. With a commitment to providing top-notch service, Messer Financial Group provides the latest in industry news and new coverage options from major providers.

In April 2019, the company issued an update about significant changes in National General’s insurance product offerings. One involved short-term medical plans in New Mexico, which now carry a three-month maximum duration. Additionally, they can only be reissued if there is a 12-month gap in between policies. Nine other states also expanded their short-term coverage solutions and existing Virginia plan rates are set to decrease.

As of April 17, 2019, all individuals with National General products will have 15 days to update their payment information if initial payments are declined. If they meet this deadline, they can keep their desired effective policy date. Failure to produce this information will prevent it from activating.
